A memoir of 25 years (1975-2000) spent working in the world of records & music in Seattle, with occasional side trips into writings on Led Zeppelin and other adventures from my musical life.
Sounds like it was a dream project for you, almost as if you would have paid to do it! (Although a renovation like that would have cost them a fortune, as you say. They got a great deal and a wonderful outcome.)
Thanks for the memories, Hugh! That Bellingham location become the biggest, hippest, coolest record store in town. Perfect for in-store performances! I remember being hired to "computerize" all the Cellophane Square locations, and that became my dream job for those awesome years back in the early-mid 90's. It was so cool to work with you and all the staff and play a small part of PNW history.
I always enjoy reading your posts, Hugh, but this one adds a deeper layer of appreciation.
Thanks Hugh! your stories always hit at the right time! can’t wait for more!
I agree with Dick, your memory for details is incredible. And I imagine that was a super fun project to tackle, especially with Wayne involved!
The store looks fantastic.

Your memory is almost as awesome as your storytelling ability!

Thanks Dave, glad you're enjoying the 'Stack! Computer tales soon to come. . .
Very interesting story. I know that store (as it is now), but had no sense of the history of setting it up as a record store.
