A memoir of 25 years (1975-2000) spent working in the world of records & music in Seattle, with occasional side trips into writings on Led Zeppelin and other adventures from my musical life.
I’m annoyed I didn’t make sure to find any indication of what led to the meeting, because it is a strange convergence. Will read that post now. I was obsessed my Lou and VU for along while. Not sure why but it’s all resurging after a bit of a lull. FYI, we moved to Seattle from the east coast round about the time you started working at Cellophane
That's very cool, thanks for calling it to my attention!
I find myself wondering when Jimmy & Lou might have crossed paths - I believe the Yardbirds hung out with some of the Warhol crew in NYC when they played there in '67 and/or '68 so that seems most likely. But of course they could have crossed paths on the road or in a studio anytime during the '70s. . . or possibly later.
Oh yeah, I have run into that interview. Will read it again later, though it sucks to learn a hero is a jerk. Realistically though, there’s no surprise in it. The exhibit in NY highlighted many redeeming things that happened as he aged. Photographs of his tai chi practice are particularly compelling.

Thanks for documenting this, even more for living the story. Kicking myself that I missed it while it was happening by just a few months. Moved to Seattle from Boston are
Very fun story and the fanzine looked great.

Of the two, Plant seems the more approachable...

Just a little too late.
